There's a couple of photos of us coming into New York on the [insert bridge name here] bridge from New Jersey. Excitement levels were flying. We landed in Chinatown, cause we got a cheap Chinese run bus and were met in a nearby park by the distinguished Mssr Cahir McDaid. Gentleman he is he gave us a hand with the baggage and the three of us put our heads together and managed to navigate the New York Subway almost without fault. Dropped the bags up at our surprisingly excellent hostel, nice area, clean, friendly staff and decent wee room.
Next few hours we chilled out in Central Park, oops just realised day one and two's photos are kind of lumped into one album. Never mind, check it out here:
Click here for pics of our first two days in the city that never sleeps!

The pictures you may notice of us stuffing our faces are taken at Virgils restaurant on 44th Street recommended by Cahirs sister. We got an obsecene amount of food, all barbecued to perferction American style. Kinda crapped ourselves when we saw the bill but it was fine when you get past the initial shock of seeing it in dollars. Afterwards we went to a comedy show at the Laugh Factory. Bought the tickets off a guy in Time Square. We didn't know what we'd gotten ourselves in for when we saw the place, kinda of empty but it filled up a fair bit. Also the first act was dreadful but it really picked up and it was excellent in the end.
Alright, going on a bit here. We have to get up early tomorrow to catch a bus to Niagara Falls so the pace of the next posts will be brisker...

I was wondering where you'd gone to. The photos are again great. We're all jealous, especially Anne who's been shouting at almost every picture "I was there!". We don't believe the half of it. Disappointed that we didn't see you on the piano, Chris. Did you get a go? Your Dad would have stayed until closing time and beat up little kids to get on it. Brendan says he wants to go to the Big Apple to eat an orange.
Really good to get up to date. The photos give a great impression of New York. The weather looks fantastic. The hostel seems to be on the "Friends" set. Christine as the Uptown Girl -- what else -- and Cahir showing his sensitive side with the cherry blossom were very good. Did Cahir tell you that you provided the inspiration for much of his Derry Journal article last Friday (11th)?
Now to look at the later entries.
