We arrived in Cairns on Tuesday morning. The town itself is nothing special, its just one big tourist information centre. We headed to the Great Barrier Reef to see the fish the next day which was amazing! The weather was overcast and windy so the boat ride there and back was really rough and the bumps were great! Being in the water was pretty scary sometimes as it was quite choppy and the currents were strong. But the reef was so beautiful. So many fish! So many colours! It really is a
different world under there.
On Wednesday we went up to Cape Tribulation and saw crocodiles in the wild. We stayed the night at a beach house and went horse riding through the
rainforest. When we reached the beach the weather was bucketing.
Apart from the the
rainforest it could have been the West of Ireland. We loved it, especially when we got to go really fast! Our
horses Raja and Little Red were the biggest and smallest of the group. They had to go through dense
rainforest and muddy hills and were so well behaved.
Tomorrow Dave is doing his bungee jump.....

Were those fish photos for real? Where'd you get the underwater camera? What's next on the agenda? Whole place looks cool. Did you meet Donc yet?
We got a wee cheap underwater camera and our friend Mauritzio let us have a copy of his digital photos cause a lot of them were of Dave. When you get them developed the shop adds on some of their own fish shots like the big bright ones of Nemo and the turtle. Apart from that everything else was from us. Mission Beach to sky dive and water raft next. Have not met Donc nor do I want to!
Fantastic photos. David could be Man from Atlantis in the remake. Some of the photos were like stills from Finding Nemo. Absolutely brilliant!
No wonder Red is retiring. His digestive transit is totally shot by the sound of things.
Bungee jump looked awesome. Fair play to you David! Your mum reckons she could do it no bother -- you must get it from her.
