Meeting up with Brads!

We have now left Australia! We got upgraded to buisness class because we were on stand by for a later flight to New Zealand.

It was amazing! We got so much food and drink and our seats were so cool. We were treated like royalty! We never want to fly economy again.

We have been so excited to see Bradley! We were introduced to his lovely girlfriend Verity and we all had a great night out in Auckland. The next day they took us to Piha Beach and Mount Eden and then we went to get Korean food and saw Batman on Imax.

It was just as good the second time around for us two even though the screen was so big that we had to constantly look around to see what was going on.

The weather has been raining non stop and sounds so loud and cool at night. But it is not that cold which we are really happy about. Brads has the biggest tv EVER and a cool bike and surf board. Verity has a massive jump suit that keeps her warm. Also a cat called Miso comes around to visit them all the time. Class.

Auckland seemed to be good fun. Nice to see you'll be acclimatised for our summer weather when you come home.

Impressed (if that's the right word) with the amount you all drank, but not at all impressed with the dancing. Some of Brads's moves looked positively agricultural -- the one with his hands on his hips especially -- then David seems to have caught the hands on hips thing later (standing manfully).
All in all some strange looking geysers -- and I don't mean the thermal springs!!

The Maori thing looked fun. The guys must have been more than cool -- going by Christine's pictures they must have been absolutely freezing!!

That Hells Gate was something else. I didn't know that New Zealand had anything like that. The baths must have been quite an experience though I'm sure the mud must get everywhere.
Thought the carvings were pretty good -- especially the fern (now who have I offended?).

Now the luge was definitely impressive. Chairlifts as well! I found some footage on youtube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEhfQt7czJg and thought it was brilliant. (Also found an article about the high rate of luge injuries at Rotorua but we won't go into that other than to say that the oldest guy injured was 82!!)
Watch out for Dougall. I think it could well be the sheep mating season down there. You could always cross him with a kangaroo back in Oz -- you might end up with a woolly jumper -- the old ones are the best. Speaking of which, I even got Stephen to fall for the one about Davy Crockett being the only man ever to have three ears.
